The American Counterterrorism Targeting and Resilience Institute

The American Counterterrorism Targeting and Resilience Institute (ACTRI) is a 501 c(3) nonprofit, cross-disciplinary

research organization focused on studying the broad spectrum of transnational militant jihadi, extreme-right, and extreme left political violence.

ACTRI researchers study the relationship between them and their effect on how ideologies emerge, spread, dominate, and influence countermeasures.

Mission Driven

Empirical assessments and research are key prerequisites for targeting efforts and for developing effective preventative measures.

ACTRI is dedicated to acting as a complementary research resource for our domestic and international CT & P/CVE partners, relying on an extensive network of local resources, empirical research methodologies, and quality data to move beyond traditional solutions.

Action

The American Counterterrorism Targeting and Resilience Institute (ACTRI) network of on the ground partners and resources in the United States, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, the Balkans and beyond have given us unique access and insight into the state of contemporary violent extremism and terrorism, a real-world experience that allows us to identify trends and project likely future patterns in a timely manner and with greater confidence.

PARTNER TRAINING MODEL

The American Counterterrorism Targeting & Resilience Institute Partnership Opportunity

Built on 3 Pillars

Relationship

Extreme-right, extreme-left, and militant jihadi violent extremists may share different goals on the surface, but the striking similarities and trends in their modus operandi, indoctrination tactics, and individual drivers demands greater attention and research.

Messaging

Communications-based products and activities to prevent violent extremism and terrorism have taken a center stage in recent years, while their identification, creation,  placement, and effectiveness continues to be debated by CT and P/CVE stakeholders. By blending  localized, data-driven content, experimental research methodologies, and digital communication and marketing best-practices, new thresholds of quality and efficacy may be achievable.

Value

By combining a commitment to proactive and empirical research with a uniquely diverse team of academic, security,  practitioner, and digital communication and marketing professionals, ACTRI is well positioned to help establish new frontiers of effective CT and P/CVE for clients who need more out of their partnerships.
