About ACTRI

The American Counterterrorism Targeting and Resilience Institute (ACTRI) is a 501 c(3) nonprofit, cross-disciplinary research organization that combines human and artificial intelligence (AI) to study extremist behaviors across the spectrum of extreme right, extreme left, and militant jihadi ideologies. ACTRI researchers explore online ecosystem and global threat manifestations that impact local communities through radical factors, recruitment tactics, and digital literacy.

Extreme-right, extreme-left, and militant jihadi violent extremists may share different goals on the surface, but the striking similarities and trends in their modus operandi, indoctrination tactics, and individual drivers demands greater attention and research.

Messaging

Communications-based products and activities to prevent violent extremism and terrorism have taken a center stage in recent years, while their identification, creation,  placement, and effectiveness continues to be debated by CT and P/CVE stakeholders. By blending  localized, data-driven content, experimental research methodologies, and digital communication and marketing best practices, new thresholds of quality and efficacy may be achievable.

Designated as an approved provider for Department of Justice (DOJ) Bureau of Justice Assistance National Training and Technical Assistance Center (BJA NTTAC).

ACTRI serves as one of the training and technical (TTA) assistance providers approved by NTTAC for funded training, supporting TTA requests from the field.
