Michael D. Donahue, Ph.D.
Dr. Michael D. Donahue brings over 27 years of military and foreign policy experience to the American Counterterrorism Targeting & Resilience Institute. He is currently an adjunct professor for the Joint Special Operations University, United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM), Tampa, FL, and for the Master of Science Program in Counterterrorism at Nichols College, Dudley, MA.
Michael has a diverse and deep understanding of many emerging and dynamic challenges facing national security related to cyber conflict, counterterrorism, and information warfare. His current adjunct duties and research focus is global cyber conflict, international relations, and violent extremism. His most recent military assignments include the Senior Cyberspace Operations Research Analyst at USSOCOM and the Cyberspace Effects Coordinator for the United States Central Command, which led the cyber and information warfare campaign during Operation INHERENT RESOLVE, the military effort to defeat the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria from 2014 to 2018.
Dr. Donahue served 21 years as a military officer in the United States Air Force. His military assignments include Russia, Turkey, South Korea, Philippines, Haiti, Guam and two combat tours in Iraq. Michael holds a Doctorate Degree from the University of South Florida, an M.A. in International Relations from Troy University, an M.S. from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, and a B.A. from Temple University.
